Her heat goes out at 6 a.m. in January. She's on her phone before she's had coffee, searching 'furnace repair near me.' What she sees first is three ads. Search results take ninety days to move. Ads run tomorrow. That's the whole difference, and it's why ads are the right answer for a business that needs work on the calendar this month.

NOT INCLUDED

What's not included

  • Your ad budget. That goes on your card, paid directly to Google or Meta. I get billing access so I can manage the account, but the money never comes through me and I never mark it up.
  • Guaranteed leads, cost per lead, or ad position. Nobody can promise those honestly.
  • A landing page build. If the ads need one, that's website work and I'll quote it before doing it.
  • Photography or video.
  • A second platform. Google and Facebook are separate campaigns and separate fees.
  • Managing an account other people are also editing.

WHAT IT COSTS TO RUN

The honest part, and most people won't tell you this before they take your money.

For HVAC, plumbing, roofing and electrical around here, the clicks worth having run $20 to $50. At $750 a month you'd buy about twenty clicks, which isn't enough for Google to learn anything or for you to know whether it worked.

So I'd start at $2,000 a month in ad budget for the trades, and $1,500 for most other service businesses. If that's more than you want to spend right now, say so and I'll tell you what I'd do instead. I'd rather give you the real number than take your money and underfund it.

ONE MORE HONEST THING

The first 30 days is a learning period.

Google is figuring out who converts, I'm cutting the searches that waste money, and the numbers move around. Don't judge it on week one. By day 45 you'll know.
